Rod McGaha, born and raised in Chicago, is a composer, trumpeter, vocalist, lyricist, and producer. While in his late teens, Rod began touring professionally before attending college. He has performed with varied artists as Kenny Rogers, Bebe and Cece Winans, Jeff Coffin, the O'Jays, Take 6, and Lou Rawls. His accolades include the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival Maynard Ferguson Award, the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award for Outstanding Jazz Trumpeter, the Oak Lawn Jazz Festival All Star Award, and the Outstanding Trumpet Soloist Award from the National Association of Jazz Educators. Rod has produced and led many jazz records, including “The Servant” in 1997 and Preacherman in 1999.
